It can be hard for our children to love being in nature and feel connected to the planet. Living in a big city our children grow up very separate from nature every day. They walk on concrete sidewalks, they play in playgrounds with human made climbing structures rather than climbing trees. And now they grow up afraid of climate change and all that it might bring. Our children will be the stewards of the planet - something that is hard to do from a place of distance and fear.

This class is about connecting to nature. We will make art that celebrates our connection to the earth. The process of creating art connects us to ourselves, to our planet. We will make art about and with nature.

* Kids will not make a “wrapped gift” for this class and will most likely want to keep their nature art work for themselves!
