Hi Friends,
I’m Emily- Hootenanny Owner and Director. I live in South Slope with my son Jonah and husband Ryan- we are pictured here on Hoot’s back porch (fixed up by Ryan, our resident handy man!) I am a long time music lover and strummer. I took over as the Hootenanny Owner and Director in April 2023.
Founded in 2007 by Pete Sinjin and Kira Smith, when their kids were young…they created a space for children that was also for the grown ups who loved them— they brought the community together for music, pancake parties, activism and more. I’m so honored and humbled to keep their Hootenanny goin’ for all you amazing families.
