Dear Friends,

Here we began posting videos direct from your teachers when we were suddenly shut down due to Covid-19. We will be adding to them throughout the spring. We hope you enjoy them. If you can, hook up to real SPEAKERS for our hard working musicians! Read the captions below the ART and YOGA videos for materials and set up before you start! We hope that you watch these videos on a computer rather than a phone, and make art and sing and dance with your kids while watching. And of course if they like to watch them over and over again, and you can get some work done, blessed be! Hang in there. Love each other. We miss you so much!

Sunday Morning....Here's a song from my family album, 'Hoots, Hollers, and Rooftop Serenades'. A song to celebrate the simplicity and joys of family, community, sitting on the stoop, spinning hoola hoops, and dancing on the sidewalk! Over the coming days and weeks, I'll be uploading videos of songs from my family albums, 'House of Song', and the aforementioned 'Hoots, Hollers...' You can hear any of these songs on any streaming platforms as well...These are songs for the whole family...mamas, dads, neighbors, aunts, old friends, new ones, cats and dogs...Everybody!
Spring is here and the world all around us is in the process of growing...The flowers, the trees, the grass, the birds...and so is each and every one of us, in body and spirit combined. Here's a song from my family album 'House of Song' all about such wonderful happenings...
The artist, songwriter, humanist, activist Woody Guthrie once said 'The note of hope is the only note that can help us or save us from falling to the bottom of the heap of evolution, because, largely, about all a human being is, anyway, is just a hoping machine, a working machine...' Hear that!? Wise words from the wisest of men... So with that thought in mind, this song, from my record 'House of Song' is designed to get your engines humming and roaring, because in this moment (like so many moments before and more to come) we're going to have to rely on that power of HOPE! So CRANK 'ER UP! Crank up your HOPING MACHINE!
From the first song of the day, till the last song before we close our eyes...and a whole bunch of songs in between! Join me for some singing and dancing and celebrating of the birds, the fish, the trees, and the coming Spring!
My kids and I show you how to make saltdough, a type of homemade, natural playdough, and turn it into an art project! If you do this with a toddler you will want to make it ahead for them and supervise their play. 2-4 year olds can help make the saltdough and then make an art project out of it. 4 and up can totally make the dough themselves and make more complex designs. Saltdough Recipe: 1/2 cup flour 1/2 cup table salt 1/4-1/2 cup warm water (add gradually) food coloring A paper plate as a base for the art project Add-ins for the art project like: uncooked noodles or beans, buttons, gems Food coloring can stain - protect your work surface or use one you don't care about getting messy :) Extra playdough can be stored in a ziplock bag in the fridge. This uncooked recipe will last 1-2 weeks. Not taste safe! Have fun! xo Hannah
